At school I was a quick learner, an avid reader, creative, sporty and made friends easily. My working life since leaving school
has been varied ranging from shorthand typist to management roles and trade union work. Currently, my main role is Human Resources and Organisational Development Specialist/Joint Trade Union Officer (Quality Assurance) at Manchester City Council.
In addition, I am Branch Equality Officer for Manchester UNISON. I have also been actively involved over the years in
various voluntary community roles, which now includes Chair of The Jamaica Society (Manchester).
My long equalities experience, skills and knowledge, have been prevalent throughout my career and played an important role in helping me to support people from all walks of life and protected characteristics, to be afforded the equal opportunities they are rightfully entitled to. I am proud to have given something back and will continue to do so for as long as
I am able to.
